Hey all, wanted to share my experience because before I left I was really stressed about starting in Casablanca and whether I should spend time there. I ended up booking a private tour that did tours from casablanca and honestly it was the best decision. My driver met me right at the airport with a sign (such a relief after a long flight!) and we spent a few hours visiting the Hassan II Mosque before heading to Rabat for the night. The mosque is absolutely stunning and totally worth seeing - it's massive and right on the ocean. After that we continued south and did the classic circuit through Fes, the desert, and ended in Marrakech. Starting in Casablanca meant I didn't have to backtrack or waste time, and having that airport pickup made the whole thing stress-free. A few tips if you're considering this: book a private tour if you can because public transport from Casablanca to anywhere takes forever, definitely see the mosque even if you leave right after, and make sure your tour includes that first night's hotel so you're not hunting for accommodation jet-lagged. Happy to answer questions for anyone planning something similar!
