For anyone who doesn’t know low porosity is when your hair has difficulty attaining moisture. Water basically runs off of it without absorbing into the hair.
For low porosity 4c hair I would suggest Steaming your hair, it opens up the cuticles allowing moisture to be absorbed. You can also moisturize your hair as you normally would and then place a shower cap over it, leave it on during the day, or do it overnight. The shower cap helps maintain heat which opens up the cuticles, pretty similar to steaming the hair.
You should also clarify your hair every couple of weeks. Clarifying your hair is simply removing product build-up which can make it difficult for your hair to attain moisture. You can clarify your hair with a clarifying shampoo, if you’re not interested in clarifying shampoo you can use ACV for a rinse but I like to add mine to an almost empty shampoo bottle and make my own clarifying shampoo.
One of the most important thing you can do for your hair is to deep condition it with heat, deep conditioning alone is fine but adding heat allows you to open up the cuticles which as I’ve stated before helps the moisture to get in.
