I’ve been spending some time preparing for the Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Cybersecurity, and honestly, it felt pretty straightforward in the beginning. The concepts seem clear when you read through them, but once I started thinking about how they actually apply in real situations, things got a bit confusing.

Like, knowing what a security control is and actually deciding which one to use in a specific scenario are two very different things. Sometimes I find myself second-guessing simple decisions, especially around threat detection and response. I’ve been going through some practice material on ITExamTopics, which helps, but it also made me realize how tricky the practical side can be.

Maybe it’s just part of the learning curve, but I’m curious did anyone else feel this gap between theory and real-world thinking while preparing? How did you deal with it?
